Vision

The Vision of the Coalition

The Coalition of the Willing exists because the gospel still changes everything and the Quad Cities matter deeply to God.

In a region identified as one of the most post-Christian in the nation, (Barna report) we believe the Church is strongest when it stands together. Rather than fear or competition, we choose unity. We share resources, ideas, metrics, and collaborate on key initiatives to see the Quad Cities reached with the gospel and disciples made.

We are a growing network of churches, leaders, and ministries linking arms around a shared Kingdom mission: to see lives transformed by the gospel and our region renewed by the love of Christ.

At the heart of the Coalition is a simple conviction:
What God wants to do in the Quad Cities is bigger than any one church.

We pray together, serve together, and take responsibility together for the spiritual condition of our cities. Driven by love for Jesus, love for people, and love for these cities, we believe God is still at work.

If you share that heart, there is a seat at the table.

Coalition Shared Convictions

We are a coalition of churches and ministries committed to the shared mission of gospel transformation in the Quad Cities. While we may differ on non-essential matters, we stand united in the following core convictions, which form the foundation for our collaboration and leadership:

  1. The Authority of Scripture

We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and trustworthy Word of God, sufficient for salvation, truth, and life.

  2. The Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son,
    and Holy Spirit.

  3. The Lordship and Uniqueness of Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus is fully God and fully man, the only way to salvation, crucified for our sins, risen from the dead, and returning again.

  4. Salvation by Grace Through Faith

We believe that salvation is a gift of God, received through faith in Jesus Christ,
    not by works.

  5. The Sanctity of Life

We believe all human life is sacred and created by God, beginning at conception and worthy of dignity and protection.

  6. God’s Design for Marriage and Gender

We believe marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman for life, and that gender is given by God and not self-determined.
